The Norfolk Broads

The Norfolk Broads are in fact a series of lakes connected by the rivers Bure, Ant and Thurne north of Yarmouth, and the Yare, Waveney and Chet south of Yarmouth.

So what is a holiday on the Broads really like? Cruising is a pleasure in Norfolk. There are no locks to cope with. Mainly, you are on wide open rivers interspersed with towns and villages. If you like it peaceful, you will find the tranquility of the many "away from it all" mooring spots to your liking. If you enjoy exploring waterside villages you will not be disappointed. Generally, you are no more than one cruising hour away from the next village with its "local", its general stores and perhaps a restaurant or two. Wroxham, Stalham, Loddon, Beccles and Brundall are larger centres where you will find more shops, restaurants and things to do.

If you crave a big city atmosphere, there is historic Norwich with its sophisticated eateries and nightscene, or all the fun of fair at Great Yarmouth. However you describe your perfect holiday, the experiences you are looking for are waiting for you on the Norfolk Broads.
