Boating In Europe: Brittany

These enchanting and beautiful waterways will truly captivate you as you cruise leisurely through unspoilt countryside.

The beauty of Brittany - cruise along some of Brittany's 400 miles of rivers and canals to see forests, moors, castles and ancient fortified towns.

The non-tidal River Vilaine leads you northwards via Rennes, capital of Brittany, to the Canal d'Ille et Rance and medieval Dinan with its castle and winding narrow streets perched high above the water.
The Canal de Nantes à Brest takes you west from Redon to the feudal town of Josselin where you can moor below the walls of its fairytale castle, or it takes you east to Nantes.

The Bretons are justly proud of their rich sea harvests, and you'll enjoy shell and sea foods unsurpassed in France.
Unending varieties of crêpes (sweet pancakes) are served in small bistros and creperies. Try them washed down with the local cider.
