Being one of our closest neighbours, Belgium is easy to travel to. Your starting base at Nieuwpoort is about one hour's drive from Calais.

	The central location of Nieuwpoort will enable you to choose from an unrivalled selection of cruises of one or two weeks duration. Beautiful Brugge and stylish Gent can be reached on a one or two week cruise. Brugge with its meandering canals and humpbacked bridges is known as the 'Venice of the North'. Its cobbled winding streets of gabled houses and its superb shopping centre make it a delightful city.

	Stylish Gent is a wonderful place to visit with many churches and medieval castles and Gent is internationally renowned for its excellent restaurants. If you're not interested in art or history you'll find much beauty on the rivers and canals with few long stretches between charming little towns and villages. On a coastal cruise you can meander amongst the Polder landscape visiting Dunkerque, or venture inland to Ypres, well known for its battles in the First World War.
